Digital Financial Service and Financial Inclusion Webinars for Jordan’s Financial Sector
The objective of the assignment was to support the GIZ project “Improving Access to Remittances and Other Financial Services through Digital Solutions”. Objective of the project was to increase the usage of digital financial services, including cross-border remittances, by refugees, Jordanians, and migrant workers with little or no access to financial services. The assignment contributed to the project’s advice to the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) (i) in upgrading/developing and implementing appropriate regulation for cross-border money transfers, (ii) in supervising digital money operation, and (iii) for supporting public-private dialogue in the sector. Hence, the leading executive partner agency of the project and for this assignment is the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).
Apex Consulting organized and invited key players of the digital finance landscape in Jordan to a series of six online expert discussion rounds (i.e. webinars) on selected topics from June to August 2023. The objective of these public knowledge sharing format was to provide international, regional, and national experience on the development and roll-out of digital financial services, and to discuss conditions and applicability for the Jordanian financial sector.
This target audience were private sector financial services companies such as banks, microfinance organizations, loan companies, and sector associations, apex-institutions that render specific payment and clearing services, mobile service providers, humanitarian institutions and civil society, donors and development agencies, and regulatory institutions.
